Webinar: Sharing the Road with Commercial Vehicles

Click here to watch a replay of the November 8, 2023, webinar Tractor trailers, heavy trucks, tankers, and other commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) are a common feature of America’s vast road network. Whether it be a large, urban metropolis, a medium-sized city, or a small, rural community, many of the goods and essential items brought to our stores and our doors probably arrive in a heavy truck. This means that wherever you drive, you are almost guaranteed to be sharing the road with these vehicles. This is a growing concern for some employers. Join NDDC for a virtual panel discussion with experts in the fields of roadway safety and heavy vehicles. Speakers include: Opening remarks: Bruce Landsberg, Member, NTSB Moderator: Robyn Robertson, President and CEO, Traffic Injury Research Foundation, and NDDC Chair Panel:
  • Dan Mayhew, Senior Research Scientist and Advisor, Traffic Injury Research Foundation
  • Kevin Grove, Director, Safety & Technology Policy, American Trucking Associations
  • Jack Kostelnik, Senior Transportation Specialist, Office of the Administrator, FMCSA
  • Matthew Camden, Senior Research Associate and Group Leader of the Research to Practice & Outreach Program, VTTI
The webinar also serves as a platform to educate the traveling public about how to safely share the road with commercial drivers and particularly novice drivers. The roundtable is moderated by Robyn Robertson, NDDC Chair, and features speakers from members of the NDDC Steering Committee, which is made up of industry, legislative, advocacy, law enforcement and government professionals. Member Bruce Landsberg will provide opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion with experts in the field of heavy vehicles.
