WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 4, 2023 (event announcement) — The National Distracted Driving Coalition (NDDC) is convening a two-part event, NDDC: Seeking Solutions to Eliminate Distracted Driving, on April 26, 2023, at the Hilton Washington D.C. – National Mall The Wharf.
The purpose of this event is to focus attention on the human and economic costs of distracted driving, which contributes to more than 3,000 deaths each year in the U.S. and cost $98.2 billion in economic losses in 2019. Morning sessions feature discussions about recent NDDC reports examining distracted driving prevalence and available technological interventions. Panelists will discuss the next research steps to help the audience gain a better understanding of these technologies and how they work.
The afternoon event features an interactive display showcasing technological solutions to distracted driving. From in-car monitoring to mobile apps and real-time enforcement, this showcase highlights a diverse range of cutting-edge solutions designed to keep drivers focused on the road ahead.
